need help hp 2200c and sb live! drivers

Hello. I am having problems installing my scanjet's hp2200c and SB Live! drivers. I downloaded the driver files from the HP and Creative sites, i extracted the setup files to my hard drive but i do not know what to do next.

Shall I just enter in my winnt.sif the folder of the .inf files? do i need to add to my RunOnceEx.cmd the setup.exe files of the drivers folder to install the software (Control Panel, audio HQ etc.)?

And a last question which you may find rather silly. Do all applications install silently? and if yes how can you modify the settings like you usually do during installation? does a window popup and lets you customize them?

I am sorry of all these 'newbie' questions but i am rather new at this and i have some things in my mind that are not exactly clear.

I would appreciate any help. Thx in advance

Hi anpho,

Welcome to MSFN forums. :hello:

Shall I just enter in my winnt.sif the folder of the .inf files?
Yes, the folder/location where the driver files are going to be after being copied to hard-disk.
do i need to add to my RunOnceEx.cmd the setup.exe files of the drivers folder to install the software (Control Panel, audio HQ etc.)?
Yes, with the necessary switches (like "/S", "/silent", etc.). And also, if you are only beginning with this, don't use RunOnceEx. Stick with batch-files (start.cmd method), which will be simpler to understand!
Do all applications install silently?
No.

Most apps have silent install switches. But some don't. If you don't specify any switch, the application will proceed in the normal way (that is, waiting for you you to click "next", "finish" etc. and then move on to the next install).

Hoping this helps...

BTW, reading MSFN's official unattended WinXP guide carefully will in most cases, answer your questions.

For whatever is not clear there, we in the forums are available here to help. :thumbup
