Generic Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 People,I need to have the local admin logged in upon first bootup after RIS. I understand that this is a no-brainer but... (guess you were waiting for that)... our domain policy changes our local admin account name during the RIS process so... if I can't specify the local admin account name, it (of course) doesn't login automatically. Now I need this to be done through the [GuiUNattended], basicly because having it anywhere else won't work... right? Also not having this policy running is not up for discussion.Any help or ideas would be faaaaaaaantastic beacuse I am stumped and it's affecting timelines.Generic
oioldman Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 What you could do is create an admin account that is ONLY used for the install of PC's to domain, i've read about in the Windows2000 Server Resource kit, something about the temp folder and security under the RIS folder where your images are.OR,did you get it working?
Generic Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 Thanks for you suggestion oioldman. The only way I was able to get around this was to convince my network admin to remove the GPO with the understanding that I would put the account rename durning the RunOnceEx Cleanup phase of my RIS using a customized VB script. So far it's been working like a charm!Generic
