SIRCOOKS Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 when transferring files lets say between my two internal hds, both 7200 rpm, i have recntly noticed a big slow down, also in my unzipping from lets say winrar or winzip, i downlaoded a vid the other day that was more than a gig, and it took me a half hour to complete the process and put the files where i wanted them. What im asking is, doses anyone know of or ever heard of any slowdown problem like this, maybe its something i should change in my bios?....is there something in the registry i can correct or upgrade....id like my stuff to really speed up, i remeber when i use to do it in under 5 minutes, all of it, now its taking forever.
firefoxthebomb Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 First thing I would do is update my antivirus and update my adware and run full scans to make sure I do not have any virus or spyware running on my computer, then I would do a defrag of my drives. That may help.
SIRCOOKS Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 besides that, anything out of the ordinary that i may need to do, eg anything in the registry?
