Registry file help

I made a registry tweak file by using a txt file, putting in my tweaks, and then using the extension .reg. I tried to import it into my registry, and I get an error message saying cannot import Error accessing the registry.

I found out when I deleted this, it worked:

;Never show extensions

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT]

"NeverShowExt"=String Value:0

How do I show file extensions by default then?
