naji Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 i need a reg tweak to change the text on the oem "support information" button on the system properties page.... can anyone help me out???
Aaron Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 That info is controlled by the oeminfo.ini file in the \Windows\System32\ folder, edit it with Notepad
naji Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Aaron..... I tried changing the button text from the oeminfo.ini file...but the oem info is gone when the button text is changed from "support information" to somthing else....
prathapml Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Then that means you can't change "Support Information" text from that button. Try editing the sysdm.cpl resources.
naji Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 thanks for the tip parathapml.... i'll see what i can find abt the sysdm.cpl resources...im working on my first unattended xp cd. i work for a PC dealer and would like to include the oem info for the company on the CD. i was thinking about modifying the "support information" button to include our "warranty terms" instead...can anyone explain how this can be done??? Is it possible?? and what can u guys tell me about the sysdm.cpl and what it has to do with my problem??
prathapml Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Just put "Warranty Terms" as the first line to be displayed, in oeminfo.ini - that's quick and simple. If you really HAVE to change the text-string on that button, then open up sysdm.cpl in Resource Hacker (or some similar tool) and do it.
naji Posted September 3, 2004 Author Posted September 3, 2004 Thanks Buddy!!! ......that simple huh!!! .......... i modified sysdm.cpl in resource hacker...Thnks again....
