Windows 2000 & Nvidia Drivers

Recommended Posts

I have had great success with the guides from this site creating XP Unattended.

I decided to have a go at Windows 2000. Apart from the other problems discussed here ( hotfixes), i am having trouble loading Nvidia Forceware 61.76 WHQL in Unattended.txt.

When I include these drivers Windows 2000 setup stalls at the end of installing devices.

Here's My Unattend.txt

Basically its the one I use for XP. All other drivers in the OemPnPDriversPath are fine.

Any help apreciated. Also Any comments on the content of Unattend.txt

To repeat my problem

When I include these drivers Windows 2000 setup stalls at the end of installing devices. ( It just sits there.) I have no issues with XP

I also have been following that thread ( you may notice I also posted to it.) and can not see and thing which describes my problem.

I too have the problem. My Windows 2000 setup has been updated to include several security patches and Service Pack 4 installed.

(We also have other drivers updates in our setup mainly Intel Motherboard based.)

Windows XP setup always works.

Are others having problems against Windows 2000 Setup files patched with SP4?

I too have this problem ATM and my [unattended] part my winnt.sif is very similar.

Im yet to experiment and try earlier NVIDIA drivers. It seems as if its waiting for input like the driver signing window but nothing comes up. Whilst I assumed it was the NVIDIA drivers I wasnt sure until this thread.

I have set "DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore".

My XP unattend works perfectly with similar settings!

Ill be experimenting over the next few days to fix this but if anyone has got a solution it would be a big time saver

Thanks

Some drivers I have tested:

v61.76 July 04 - some problem

v56.72 April 04 - same problem

v56.63 March 03 - same problem

v53.04 Feb 03 - same problem

v53.03 Dec 03 - I think it works but will retest

v43.51 April 03 - works

I only use signed WHQL drivers.

I have the same Problem and I've noticed that Nvidia's graphic drivers are the only one which ask to restart the system when I'm installing them after setup completes. Is it possible that the Nvidia Display Driver Service requires a reboot and causes the setup to hang if the system isn't rebooted?

Ok Finally fixed.

Did unattended install with no Nvidia drivers..

When this is complete do windows update , drivers are copied to a folder called WUtemp, copy & paste these files before they are deleted.

USE THESE FOR THE INSTALL EVERTHING OK

It did not work for me. My guess is the MS driver doesn't support the MX4000 card I am using. It may be too old.

Krismark, Would it be possible for you to make the driver available for me or others? Did you get run Windows Update on XP or 2000?
