NoodleMaps Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 As You can see, I'm able to access the net with my installation of XP. So the drivers for my NIC seem to be working. I have an Abit IC7-G MAX 2 motherboard that has a Intel gigabit port built on to the board. After I made my first few attempts with my Unattended XP disc, I had no problems with the network getting set up and running for the internet. But here is the part that has got me confused. Now that I am near the end of testing my XP installation, my Network Connections have disappeared. I can use the network, but I can't control or edit settings for the network. Sometimes I get the icons for my network connections. My Nic and my Firewire drive, but usually after a reboot or two I get nothing like in this screen shot. But when I do get a chance to right click and hit properties, I get the Local Area Connections but I get no options within there. If I click anywhere within here I get this.If I say no to this after I click on Advanced, I get this messageIf I say Yes, nothing happens. It's like the protcols are installed, but after awhile, disappear. Because, I'm on the Net. TCP/IP must be working, correct? So something is screwy. I hope this is a common problem, but I couldn't think of what terms to search under. If anyone can give me the slightest bit of info on this problem, please let me know. It's the one thing left in my Unattended Disc that is keeping it from being perfect. Thanks
NoodleMaps Posted August 22, 2004 Author Posted August 22, 2004 Nevermind, I found out the problem. I made an install package for Protowall and that seems to be what is messing this all up. An Admin can feel free to delete this thread. Thanks
