Folder Opening Problem

Hey Guys,

I was editing the Folder Settings, and changed the icon for the Folders/File Folders and It didnt work, but the problem was, after i had done that i couldnt open folders, they came up with "<folder name here> is not a valid win32 application" as if it was tryna run with rundll32.exe or whatever it is. I have set it up to explore instead of open but this is a bit of a hassle. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Try merging this into your registry:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
@="none"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell]
@="open"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\open\command]
@=hex(2):25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52,00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,\
 00,5c,00,45,00,78,00,70,00,6c,00,6f,00,72,00,65,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,\
 65,00,20,00,2f,00,69,00,64,00,6c,00,69,00,73,00,74,00,2c,00,25,00,49,00,2c,\
 00,25,00,4c,00,00,00

Copy and paste that into a text file. Save as "folder.reg".

Double click the file and hopefully you will be back in business.

It's always a good idea to do that first. In fact, before you change any file type settings, you should back up your registry. I've messed around with the ones for drives and folders and the changes never work. They invariably get messed up as well.
