amoss24 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 when setting up new computers on our departments network we need to switch off a TCP/IP DNS setting "Register this connection's addresses in DNS".Does anyone know what to change in the registry to get it switched off that way i could set it during a windows xp installaton and never have to worry about it.see image attached.
amoss24 Posted August 16, 2004 Author Posted August 16, 2004 dont panic over this found the reg code;DisableDynamicUpdate can only be set in the registry and the setting overrides the checkbox Register this connection's addresses in DNS found on the DNS tab[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]"DisableDynamicUpdate"=dword:00000001does the job but would have liked the chk box to be cleared to show it was done but if it works it works and thats fine.
