Annoying Error Message on Startup

Featured Replies

I seem to get this every time after installing Windows Server 2003.

I just performed a clean install, and after performing the MSFN W2K3 guide and installing my graphics (nVIDIA ForceWare 65.52), sound (Sound Blaster Live! Driver Pack II) and modem (GlobeSpanVirata Internal DSL Modem) drivers, I got the message "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use Event Viewer to examine the event log for details.". This happens on every installation of W2k3, on the second boot. After the message appears, most programs that didn't load before it start to load.

What can be done to prevent this, and why did this happen in the first place?

What does the Error log say in Event Viewer? That is where you will find your answer... That is why you get the message you get... I'm guessing it doen't like a piece of hardware you have installed. Any yellow markers in Device Manager?
