Lostpassword Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 I am a newbie and would like to ask a question. I am sure some of you experts will have the answer.I always right click the start button to explore my computer. The documents and settings folder always opens in an expanded display, even though I always collapse the expanded display. I never use this folder, preferring a simple folder called C:\docs for all my documents. This was originally due to easier navigation using NTFSDOS if I wanted to copy off files from a non bootable disk. The older versions never allowed spaces in directory names. Is there any way to always make the documents and settings folder open without the full display. It takes up so much room on the screen. I would obviously want to be able to expand it if really needed. Thanks in advance.
jrzycrim Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Basically no. When you right click on the Start button and select 'Explore', you are exploring the Start Menu which resides in Documents and Settings\user name. It will expand the start menu folder as well as all of its parent folders. You could right click on 'My Computer' and select explore.
