bobby100 Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Because I'v used a lot of tweakers etc, I have somehow disabled WinXP cd-burning capabilities (internal one). Can someone help me to enable it again without to re-install Windows?
prathapml Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 To bring back the CD-burning capability to WinXP, copy/paste the below registry code into notepad and save as "cdburn-allow.reg":Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00; Enable Imapi CD-Burning Service[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ImapiService]"Start"=dword:00000004Alternatively, to do the same manually, you can:1. Run "services.msc"2. Locate and click on "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service" in the list that you see.3. In the drop-down box that says "Startup type", choose Automatic.4. Click "OK", close all windows and reboot5. (or to start using it immediately, click Apply, and start the service).
bobby100 Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 2nd solution worked fine (I didn't try first one), thanks a lot.
