Dustinwmew Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 in C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\WMI a file named trace.log is started at 0 kb's at system start and gets biger and biger till it fills the drive. how do I stop it?
nakira Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Have you run bootvis.exe by any chance? If so, you should run it again and select "Stop Tracing" from the 'Trace' menu in bootvis.exe.The first time it runs you turn logging on. After you reboot it analyzes trace.log. Then you run it again and turn logging off.HiH
jrzycrim Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Bootvis is definitely the problem. A few months ago I noticed my hard drive space was being filled. I finally traced it to that file and disabled bootvis tracing.
Dustinwmew Posted July 19, 2004 Author Posted July 19, 2004 thinks! I was using bootvis to find out why my computer pause for like 2 mins when I log in, but it was no help.
