ACPI under 2003 Server?

Hello. I cant seem to get ACPI to work under 2003 server. I think the isntaller must have assumed that i wanted a "Standard PC". I currently have an Asus a7n8x board which has an APIC and is ACPI compliant. All the settings in the BIOS are correct (i've doublechecked that) so is there a way to tell windows i have an ACPI compliant motherboard without reinstalling? Did i miss something in the setup? XP Seems to be able to detect correctly. Cheers

Either:

1. You need to install the drivers for some device (whose drivers weren't in the OS).

--OR--

2. Go into Control Panel, and check that everything is set to normal ('coz, by default sound/3D-acceleration/Power-settings are set to ultra-safe modes - which leads to the non-ACPI behaviour you describe).

I cant seem to update the "standard pc" bit in the device manager. THe problem lies here because it should say something like "ACPI Microprocessor" or soemthing. I dont even have an APM Tab in my power settings. All the hardware is set to maximum accleration. I dont believe there is one for power. Any more thoughts?

I should probably move this to the 2003 server forum! :)
