invalid syntax error

:) whenever i open my internet explorer, i get the message "invalid syntax error"

this is what i get

The page cannot be displayed

i am using yahoo as my home page and it has been working for years up until now. i go into " tools - internet options - and make sure i have www.yahoo.com in the address bar. when i go back out and start back up, yahoo comes on, but then when i go out of it and try to get back in, i get the message above, so i go back into tools, etc. and the address has been changed to all those numbers and symbols. i contacted dell and they just give me a bunch of jibberish. can someone help me?
