I've read that you can set a language but I'm uncertain as to whether you can remove the initial default English US. I only want XP to install with English UK.

Can you do this with a unattended install.

For 2K these settings in winnt.sf prevent US english being installed leaving only UK english on the system.

    LanguageGroup=1
    Language=00000809
    InputLocale=0809:00000809
    SystemLocale=0809
    InputLocale=0809

You may have to look up teh appropriate values if they've changed for XP but the value explanations and the link to the website where they are further documented is all in the deployment tools documentation.
