GreenMachine Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 I noticed that MSFN recently added a Google Search Box to the MSFN pages. I would guess that this was done to encourage users to search a bit before posting: an idea I agree with. When I first saw this box, it was on the bottom of each page. Today I find it at the top of the page, in prime real estate space. My browser opens up in an 800X600 window. With the google box, I now have to scroll down just to see if there are any new posts in a forum. Previously, I would rarely put stickies threads in the XPCREATE forum, just to be able to see the new posts. This is no longer the case: even without stickies, I need to scroll down to get to the posts. An option could be to re-design the Google form to place the radio buttons on the side, and reduce the height of the form.Obviously this is not a life or death matter. However, I've had such good luck ... I thought I'd mention it!
GreenMachine Posted June 21, 2004 Author Posted June 21, 2004 xper, you are going to spoil me ...I admit, I did not read the MSFN Home Page News article about new Google options, where it mentioned possible revenue, before my last post. If the more prominent placement of the Google box results in increased revenue, then obviously I understand. I was not aware of a possible "kick-back".Once again, I owe my most humble thanks to xper. Tak!
