Windows 2003 server and SATA

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm hanging on a problem to get Silicon Image drivers work on an ASUS A8NX-E Deluxe with this sata controller onboard.

During the install process Win3k hangs while detecting the controller I included on the blue install (f6).

The driver should work, because Win3k detects both sata hard disks (Samsung 1213C) during the blue screen install.

But then in the graphical install the system hangs as soon as it tries to re-include the driver in the device detection section.

The result is a complete stop of the whole install process. Black screen and nothing happens anymore.

Any suggestions/experiences?

Thanx

Ian

Hi lonelypauly,

as I said, during the blue (dos) sceen installation in which I have to include the driver via F6 no problems accour.

But while the graphical install during the device detection monitor gets black and nothing happens anymore. System hangs...

In the meantime I've installed Win3K on my Asus A8NX Deluxe board which includes the same sata controller like the 'problem board' A8NX-E Deluxe.

And I got absolutely no problems.

So, whats the matter here...

Could it be the graphic card, RAM?

The funny thing is that I had it installed one time on the 'problem board' .

But then decided to re-install the server... ...and f***ed up :)

Any suggestions?

Thanx

Ian

Is the ASUS A8NX-E Deluxe on the Win2K3 HCL (Hardware Compatability List)?
