Windows Update + Mis-Reported Hotfixes

Hello,

Came accros interesting issue wereby i deployed about 20 hotfixes via batch file with the switches /u /z (so the hotfixes would install in un-attend mode & not restart @ the end) i also made sure to include Qchain.exe @ the end of the file.

I then connected to microsoft update site & it reported that Hotfix MS03-043 (KB828035) was not installed when infact it was listed in add/remove & also in the registry location of HKLM\software\microsoft\windowsnt\hotfixes.

Tried doing some google research but to no avail, has anybody come across a similiar issue or have any suggestions ?

I'd recommend scanning the system with HFNetChk. Make sure to use the -v (verbose) option. My guess is that a registry value did not get written. Sometimes HFNetChk can inform you of the specific problem.
