egrabrych Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 (edited) Does anyone know the answer to the following question: I have Windows 10 installed (currently an digital license, but the first activation was with a key). If in sequence: a) I will upgrade this system to Windows 11 for free, b) I will purchase another, new license for Windows 11 and change the existing key to the key of this new license, will I be able to use the previous key to install and activate Windows 10 on my other computer (on which Windows 11 cannot be installed, due to hardware reasons)? BakerSean Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 (edited) When you upgrade your Windows 10 system to Windows 11 for free, your trusty old Windows 10 key should still be good to activate Windows 10 on another computer. No fuss, no muss. It's like a digital high-five from Microsoft for being a loyal user. Now, if you decide to go the extra mile and grab a fresh Windows 11 license, that's cool too. Just remember to swap out your old key with the shiny new one on your upgraded system. And hey, speaking of keys, if you're ever on the lookout for Windows 10 keys, I stumbled upon this Reddit for Windows 10 key cheap. They might have some sweet deals. Edited October 16, 2023 by BakerSean
