Greetings all. First post after lurking around here for days on end as I play with this wonderfull new toy.

Thought I would ask a question:

I have a soundblaster Audigy card.

I can get the basic sound drivers for it to work in an unattended install, but after that I run into a bit of a snag.

From what I can tell, in order to turn on the Digital Sound Output setting for my card, I must install either the Creative Audio HQ or the Creative Surround Mixer software.

No where on their website to they actually list a FULL instalation of either of said products for download, only Patch/Updates, which check for a PREVIOUS version of the software before installing.

So now I have a stupid problem. My instalation of the drivers has become redundant because I must now hunt up my origional instalation CD to get the basic software, before i can install the updates

What I want to ask is: Does anyone know if creative runs a FTP site or something that would have a properly updated FULL version of their attendant software?

I have a SB Live! 5.1 card, and have the same issue. It seems that Creative wants to make it hard for people like us to auto-install our "real" audio drivers along with Windows...

What I recommend you do is to do a silent installation using the Creative Installer. I'd recommend that you take a look at the Applications / InstallShield page for instructions on how to do it. BTW, after you use WinRAR (or whatever archiver you use,) to extract the files from LiveDrvUni-Pack, you'll have to do some digging to find the actual InstallShield Setup.exe file you'll need to be concerned with.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like more detailed information on how to do the silent install!
