thieske Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 hello,i want to deploy XPpro from a network share on a 2003 server... I want to deploy XPpro to machines with NTFS-partitions, no cd-drives and sometimes no floppy drives...What should i do, i tried to create a bootdisk which would provide me a mapping to the share, but i didn't got it right... really getting desperate because the other problem with bootdisks is that even with a cd-rom player i couldn't install because the XPpro installation doesn't see the NTFS partition...I'm outta options and really want to make some progress...P.S. when there was 2000 on a machine and i ran unattended.bat from the share the installation worked perfectly...
thieske Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 i want to add to this just to make clear what my intentions really are... I want to use the Windows XP unattended installation from a network distribution share. I want to be able to go to each workstation and boot with a network floppy/usb stick to begin the installation. And really the only problem that i have is the floppy/usb-stick that enables me to boot the system and install XPpro
thieske Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 Starting, to get anxious, someone in here knows how to create a share and make it available for LAN-booing (PXE?)
