Transparent background, non transparent text

Hi,

im trying to do a table with transparent background, about 40 %, and normal text.

All i achieved is a table with transparent background and transparent text.....

I use CSS.

Does anyone have any ideas ??

Have you tried using a png file for a background that has 40% transparency?

You need to use a hack to get it to work in IE though.

No didnt try that. There must be a way to accomplish that through css. I think ive seen it somewhere, but cant remember where.
