Guest Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Where does system32\normaliz.dll come from? It doesn't exist in an XP CD yet it's there when setup is finished. I've check service packs for it, IE8 installer, WMP11 installer, etc and nothing contains this file. It doesn't appear to be a renamed file in the i386 folder because the 2 files listing names, which I forget the names right now, don't list it. I've Googled like crazy and found no answer.
Guest Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) Check the IE8 installer again. It's located in the support folder. Edited August 9, 2013 by 5eraph
Guest Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) Doh! Silly me. OK, explain this then! It's also on VM I'm running that only has IE6.Doh! again! The VM had IE8 installed at one point. Edited August 9, 2013 by -X-
Guest Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 (edited) Can't. Don't know what you have installed. I can tell you it's not included in user_hidden's latest update pack, and it is not present when an OS updated with it first logs on. Makes sense. Uninstallers often only remove the main application, and leave support and redistributable files in place. Edited August 9, 2013 by 5eraph
