windows xp sound

i installed my drivers and i cannot hear any sound, when i connect the audio jack i hear a buzz sound but when i try to play and type of sound it doesnt work. I tried plugging in different speakers but non of them work. I don't know what the problem is can anybody help me

Bad mobo/sound card. Bad drivers. What is the make and model of your sound card or motherboard and if it's a name brand computer the make and model of that?

Also check in device manager, if there is a device with a yellow exclamation mark and if you used the front panel check if everything is properly connected to motherboard.
