February 3, 201214 yr Hi guysI'm having an issue. My laptop which just got an SSD is taking its time to shutdown. I have followed this guide: but exchanged the "boot" with "shutdown" to get a log for it.Log is included.I can see the services.exe is taking a long time to shutdown. Is there anyway i can find out which process is taking forever to close?RegardsJimmysummary.xml Edited February 3, 201214 yr by JimmyS
February 3, 201214 yr shutdown is ok: <timing shutdownTime="8383" servicesShutdownDuration="4136">complete shutdown takes 8.3 seconds and shutting doewn the services takes 4.1 seconds.
February 3, 201214 yr Author i see, but the actually time is over 2mins, i timed it with a stop watch....is there no indication of this in the log?
February 3, 201214 yr nope. Windows thinks the shutdown is done, so it is a hardware issue. Try to load the default BIOS settings.
February 5, 201214 yr Author Tried to load Bios defaults. No diceRan several tests on the SSD. NO errors there.Memtest+ 4,2 done, Nothing to find here either.Running virus scan with Dr. Web, Cure It, lets hope for some results here. Edited February 5, 201214 yr by JimmyS
