cluberti Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Yes, it works from a DVD or a bootable USB key. No server necessary. If you follow my guide, you can do it. If you find trouble, then perhaps you need to begin again and see where you made a mistake.
nyorker Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) I am still follwoing the linksand following the suggestions.Thanks...After Updating my DS and Media I have the Media Content folder containing [ \boot, \deploy;\EFI….] that I copied to a bootable USB stick. This time i formatted as per DISKPART with NTFS.My DeploymentShare, on my Tech compute, has a folder under C:\ DeploymentShare called 'Operating System' in it.Do I have to copy the entire 'Operating System' folder, too, to the USB stick? Its not clear on the link. In that link on the comments, someone[Joel] suggested that Operating System has to be copied to the USB too. If yes then the question is where it should be placed on the USB Media stick- on the root or I have to create a folder. Also, I just noticed that there is only Default Setting on my .ini. i did not have any settings on my Custosettings.ini, I have to create those settings but I need some guideline to create the basics about what to skip and what NOT? Right now my .ini settings is:[settings]Priority=Default[Default] I have to add some more settings here but I don't know what to add and what not. Do I have to include DeploymentRoot and DeploymentShare path in the CustomSettings.ini.I need some more info on CustomSettings.ini and BootStrap.ini.Hope it works with the target machine being not-on-a Active Directory.
