clivebuckwheat
I recently installed SCCM 2007 along with MDT 2010. I am looking for the PXEFILTER setting in MDT 2010, I can't seem to find it. In MDT 2008 it was in the program menu of MDT. Can anyone give me a hand?
cluberti
MDT 2010 no longer includes the PXE filter for unknown computer support in SCCM 2007, because SCCM 2007 gets support for this after installing R2 (which is a free download for SCCM 2007). You only need to run "Configure ConfigMgr Integration" from the MDT program folder to add the task sequence and WinPE support menus to SCCM 2007, but to get unknown support (PXEFILTER) in SCCM 2007, you need to install R2:
clivebuckwheat
Thanks cluberti. I am running the trial of SCCM 2007 sp2. Is sp2 the same as R2? Or is r2 another download?
cluberti
SP2 is not the same as R2, R2 is a separate download/install (that you should do - in fact, you really should be using R3 at this point).
clivebuckwheat
Thanks Cluberti,Much appreciated as always. I ran into a problem today, which I did a lot of reading on technet to try to solve, even posted a question, but I don't quite understand the response yet,Trying to move a computer to a new collection. It seems to be rather difficult.
cluberti
You can either move it manually, or write your SQL query so that it (and/or machines like it) will end up in the collection. You have to remember/understand that a collection is just that - a collection. It's not a directory, it's just a logical representation of systems that match the criteria for the collection.http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1237-sccm-collection-moving-clients/
