Black Screen on Startup cursor visible

Hi

I have a really annoying problem that I can't seem to get my head around.

I have a windows 7 PC which is on our network and it works just fine. I created an image of this PC and reimaged another PC (Same hardware, model)

The annoying thing is that when I boot from cold I just get a black screen with a cursor... I have to hold the power button down until the PC goes off and switch on again and it then works and gets to the login screen.

I just don't understand why this is happening.. it's exactly the same computer... I tried running a repair on it but same problem persists.

Is it something to do with the imaging of the computer that is identical?

I didn't sysprep it but I have a volume licence so didn't think that would really matter... I do this with XP pc's often.

Anybody seen this problem and any fix for it?

Also just to add that if I boot into safe mode it works every time.

Even though the driver was exactly the same as the one on the original image I decided to go to the Nvidia site and download a new driver.

works now!

Strange.
