system files causing errors/crashes

I was just wondering if anyone else was having any problems with any errors since these 2 patches came out?

So far I've had endless problems trying to encode videos to XVid through Premiere 6.5, and just today I've had Eudora crash twice as well as DAP go down once. By crash I mean come up with the error box saying "program has caused a problem and has been shut down" or something like that, then you can view the problem details, etc. For Premiere, it was mostly xvid.dll and sometimes came up as unknown; for Eudora it was user32.dll; didn't see what it was for DAP because I just shut it down.

I managed to get Ulead Media Studio to encode what I wanted to do through Premiere, as I guess it doesn't rely on any/many MS system files to work with, but that was only a short term solution. Weird thing is though that Premiere stuffed up on encoding in Win2kSP4 as well on this system, so maybe there's something else amiss on this system, though it's essentially the same as before I did my latest reinstall except for me running off a different SATA controller.

EDIT: It seems that having 2 SATA drives on the ICH5 mapped to PM/PS was the problem, as when I moved the other drive to the Sil controller everything was fine.
