Adprep advice

I am going to upgrade my domain from 2003 32bit to 2008r2.

a server on the domain holds all the roles and is running 2003 32bit.

The first thing I need to do is run adprep /forest / domain etc.

Am I right in thinking that I run the adprep.exe from the 2008 r2 CD on my windows server 2003 that is currently holding the roles?

Now do I obtain a 32bit version of adprep from the 2008 r2 CD ? Because I'm guessing the 64bit adprep.exe on the 2008 CD won't run on the 2003 server?

I'm planning to introduce a new 2008 r2 server onto the domain and then after I have done an adprep I would like to promote it to DC status.
