LibreOffice with KernelEx?

I know that from time-to-time folks ask how to open MS Office 2007/2010 files (particularly DOCX files) on Win98/ME systems. With KernelEx we're getting more and more options (Thank you Xeno86 and Tihiy). OpenOffice.org 3.21 can open them (although its import filters are not great). I see The Document Foundation's LibreOffice has merged "enhancements produced by RedHat and the Go-OOo team". So, I figure its import abilities probably exceed OOo's.

It's currently in Beta and comes with the warning:

Be advised that the current beta might replace your OpenOffice.org installation.

And there's a few small known issues:

* The Windows build is an International build - you can choose the user interface language that is suitable for you, but the help is always English. We are currently working on improving the delivery mechanism to be able to provide you with the localized help. We are also working on smaller problems like wrong description of several languages.

* The Linux and MacOSX builds are English builds with the possibility to install language packs. Please browse the archives to get the language pack you need for your platform.

* The LibreOffice branding and renaming is new and work in progress. You may still see old graphics, icons or websites. So please bear with us. This also applies to the BrOffice.org branding - applicable in Brazil.

* Filters for the legacy StarOffice binary formats are missing.

* Adding a caption to a frame in writer causes a crash (sadly fixed shortly after Beta2).

I'd test it myself, but I'm currently only supporting Win98 for a friend and his computer is several miles away

P.S I've read a non-beta will be available soon.
