mattmill30 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Hi,This may at first seem a bit strange, as surely you need one user to be a Computer Administrator. When I installed an antivirus software, it told me I should be using a limited account for general usage, and just use an administrators account for administration purposes. In safe mode it tells me that there are two accounts, my friends account (this is his laptop i'm fixing) and the Local Administrator. So what I'm hoping to do, is set my friends account to a Limited user. And tell him that if he wants to install any software, he needs to run it as Local Administrator. However, the Limited option is unavailable in User Accounts because "you must assign another user on this computer with a computer administrator account before you can change this user's account type."Is it possible to set my friends account to limited, if other than the Local Administrator his account is the only other account on the laptop? Thanks,Matthew
