Major Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Hi i have read the manual of unattended windows "FireGeier Unattended Vista Guide_2.pdf" on how to inject drivers in the unattended windows 7 using variuos steps including the tool imagex, editing the registry, creating an answer file of drivers, but yesterday i have found a tutorial on how to add the drivers via dism without doing some changes, only executing commands, the reference is http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744355(WS.10).aspx.My question is there any diferene between both methods, and what is the best method?other question please, is there any diference between imagex and dism? i have found the tool dism do the same commands like imagex.Thanks. cluberti Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 DSIM replaces imagex for almost everything (and for things it doesn't, it acts like a wrapper on imagex commands). Using Imagex/PEimg and DSIM to inject drivers to an offline image ultimately do the same thing - add drivers to the root Windows CD so that they can be discovered and installed during hardware detection.
