Windows Deployment Services running extremly slow when imaging.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Appologies if i have posted this in the wrong section.

I have got about 20 Toshiba Satellite Pro L450 with a REALTEK GbE & FE Ethernet PCI-E NIC Driver to image.

I have created the image and uploaded it to our WDS server which worked fine.

Now trying to deploy the image it gets to "Expanding Files" and gets to 1% after several minutes and then will not go any further.

I have tried a completly different modle laptop and this images in about 5/6 minutes, so i cannot see it being an issue with the server.

I have tried a different network card in the server and several recommendations off the Microsoft website, just incase it was a server issue but it has not worked?

The imaging process works fine off USB Pen drive.

I am completly stumped as what to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Chris

Just an Update...

I have now tried using the drvload.exe command and injected the vista driver in PE succesfully, So i presume that it is using a similar driver but one that does not work properlly...

The Vista drivers are injected into the boot image

Is there a way to find out which drivers it is using and delete the one that is not working properly? so that it will use the correct one?

Many Thanks
