HarrisonS Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Starting three days ago, my status as "Logged In" is no longer retained in some forums (including this one). Some other forums do, however, continue to retain my login status. It seems that the login status is remembered only as long as the current instance of the IE is used. If the current instance of IE is closed, and then IE restarted I must log in all over again. As I said, this problem only exists with some forums, but not others. I am using IE7 running under Windows XP Professional. I have not touched any of the settings on the IE, or anywhere else, and there are no viruses. Cookies seem to be retained as before. What is going on and how can I fix this?
cluberti Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Not sure - initially I moved it here, but now I notice it's more of an overall issue with more than just MSFN. Assuming IE doesn't have the settings set like "Delete Browsing History on Exit" or have something that is deleting your cache on you on process shutdown, it could be perhaps an add-on or activex control running inside IE. It could also be that your cache folder size is too small, or that it's full (what happens if you totally clear your cache and then logon, close IE, and re-open IE and come back?).
