translucent selection rectangle

hello all.... several months ago i was using a software that enabled me to change the color of the desktop selection rectangle to virtually any color..... i have since uninstalled it and cannot remember which software program it was... Now i am trying to figure out where in the registry the color change was made and if anyone out there may have an idea how to return it back to the original blue ... I have no restore points that date back that far.. the registry key,i think, is:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ListviewAlphaSelect]

"DefaultValue"=dword:00000001

but no where can i figure out where the color change instructions inserted

Esoteric.... i know,but i can't figure out how it was done....
