Laybackster Posted December 1, 2009 Share Posted December 1, 2009 Hi Everyone!I have used this forum for reference many times, it has been of great help! Thanks!I am getting quite frustrated with deploying Windows 7 and it seems its because we skipped over Vista.I am used to deploying captured RIS images with riprep and answers.I need to:Deploy Automated Windows 7 via WDS with MAC activationsThe image needs to be automated and requires:Multiple languages (English/French)Multiple Keyboards (English/French-Canada) Fr-CA (Default)I associated the answer file to the captured image, yet the following issues exist:The international/keyboard settings are incorrectWork location is not automatically selectedThe hard drive is not wiped out and formatted automaticallyCan someone please help point me in the right direction? I have read countless posts and articles, to no avail.I associated the following answer file to the captured image:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <servicing></servicing> <settings pass="windowsPE"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Setup" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <UserData> <ProductKey> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> <Key>XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX</Key> </ProductKey> <AcceptEula>true</AcceptEula> <Organization>TESTING</Organization> </UserData> <EnableFirewall>false</EnableFirewall> <DiskConfiguration> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> <Disk wcm:action="add"> <CreatePartitions> <CreatePartition wcm:action="add"> <Extend>false</Extend> <Order>1</Order> <Type>Primary</Type> <Size>100</Size> </CreatePartition> <CreatePartition wcm:action="add"> <Order>2</Order> <Extend>true</Extend> <Type>Primary</Type> </CreatePartition> </CreatePartitions> <ModifyPartitions> <ModifyPartition wcm:action="add"> <Active>true</Active> <Format>NTFS</Format> <Label>System</Label> <Order>1</Order> <PartitionID>1</PartitionID> </ModifyPartition> <ModifyPartition wcm:action="add"> <Order>2</Order> <PartitionID>2</PartitionID> <Label>Windows</Label> <Format>NTFS</Format> </ModifyPartition> </ModifyPartitions> <WillWipeDisk>true</WillWipeDisk> <DiskID>0</DiskID> </Disk> </DiskConfiguration> <ImageInstall> <OSImage> <InstallToAvailablePartition>false</InstallToAvailablePartition> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> <InstallTo> <DiskID>0</DiskID> <PartitionID>2</PartitionID> </InstallTo> </OSImage> </ImageInstall> </component> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-International-Core-WinPE" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <SetupUILanguage> <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage> </SetupUILanguage> <InputLocale>en-US</InputLocale> <SystemLocale>en-US</SystemLocale> <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage> <UserLocale>en-US</UserLocale> </component> </settings> <settings pass="oobeSystem"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <OOBE> <HideEULAPage>true</HideEULAPage> <ProtectYourPC>3</ProtectYourPC> <SkipUserOOBE>true</SkipUserOOBE> <SkipMachineOOBE>true</SkipMachineOOBE> <NetworkLocation>Work</NetworkLocation> <HideWirelessSetupInOOBE>true</HideWirelessSetupInOOBE> </OOBE> <RegisteredOrganization>TESTING</RegisteredOrganization> <UserAccounts> <AdministratorPassword> <Value>bAB1A1AH314QAcgB123123pAG4AQQBkAG0AaQBuAGkAcwB0AHIAYQB0AG8AcgBQAGEAcwBzAHcAbwBryAGQA</Value> <PlainText>false</PlainText> </AdministratorPassword> </UserAccounts> <AutoLogon> <Password> <Value>bAB1AHADwQAcgBpAG4AUABh21AHMAcwB3A4G8AcgBkAA==</Value> <PlainText>false</PlainText> </Password> <Enabled>true</Enabled> <Username>Administrator</Username> <LogonCount>1</LogonCount> </AutoLogon> <TimeZone>Eastern Time</TimeZone> </component> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-International-Core" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <InputLocale>0c0c:00001009;en-us</InputLocale> <UILanguage>fr-CA</UILanguage> <UILanguageFallback>en-us</UILanguageFallback> <UserLocale>fr-CA</UserLocale> <SystemLocale>en-us</SystemLocale> </component> </settings> <settings pass="specialize"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <ProductKey>XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX</ProductKey> <RegisteredOrganization>TESTING</RegisteredOrganization> <TimeZone>Eastern Standard Time</TimeZone> <ComputerName>%MACHINENAME%</ComputerName> </component> </settings> <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim://SRVNAME/reminst/win7/install.wim#Windows 7 ENTERPRISE" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" /></unattend>Please, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I am new to the .xml files and structure.Do I require a file within RemoteInstall\WdsClientUnattend to automate the disk partitioning? If so what should it be called?HELP! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Laybackster Posted December 2, 2009 Author Share Posted December 2, 2009 Just a small bump with some more questions, hoping someone can chime in soon.WDSClientUnattend.xmlI simply want this file to partition the drive, not to predefine an image or automatic login.I have been unable to get the file to work properly.Is it possible to have the file perform the partitioning aspects only?Thanks!
