Really need help with this problem im having..

Im running WinXP pro SP3 on Partition 1, everything is running smoothly. Now im trying to install Win7 on 2nd Partition as a dual boot system. At 1st it installs fine but at the end when starting the system for the 1st time i get a BSOD with the error - 0x0000009C (0x00000000, 0x80DCB94C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I did google & read something about RAM not properly seated on slot, so i took it out & installed properly, did a fresh format & install 7 but still get the same problem.

Took out my soundcard & switched off all my HDD fans & exhaust fan, format & install but still no go..By the way, OSes on HDD WD80gb Sata.

Here is my Configuration :

CPU : Pentium D 3Ghz

Motherboard : ASUS P5RD1-VM

Memory : KINGTON DDR 2GB

Graphics Card : Nvidia Gigabyte GTX250

Sound Card : EMU 0404

HELP!!

The MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION dump (0x9c) actually has meaning if we can take a look at the resulting .dmp file. If you can get to it, upload it and we'll analyze it for you.

Thanx bro, i jz wiped my whole HDD where i plan to install xp with 7. Gonna try it again & will upload the .dmp files..will update, cheers!

ok guys, after wiping my sata HDD. I successfully installed XP Pro SP3 in Partition 1. Than proceed to install win 7 on Partition 2, all goes well then before logging in to Windows 7 i get my BSOD. This time a different error.. - 0x0000009C (0x00000000, 0x80DCC94C, 0X00000000, 0X00000000) . before, wiping my sata HDD the BSOD error was 0x0000009C (0x00000000, 0x80DCB94C, 0X00000000, 0X00000000).

Here's my minidump...

According to the dump, this is a LGA 775 Pentium D at 3GHz, but the reported error contained *no* data - not to mention it used the wrong bugcheck code (0x9c instead of 0x124, which is what it's supposed to do under Vista and Win7):

1: kd> !cpuid
Unable to get information for processor 0

This means that whatever hardware error occurred, it's probably NOT the CPU at fault. However, there's no specific error information, so I would do the following:

1. Make sure your motherboard has the very latest BIOS on it that you can

2. Make sure it's compatible with at least Windows Vista

3. Run a memory test against the RAM in the machine using something like memtest86+ or similar to make sure there's no bad RAM causing the bugcheck

Assuming that all tests fine and you're running at least a Vista-compatible BIOS, I'd consider contacting Intel support about getting advanced diagnostics from the CPU and BIOS.

Hey guys...after installation & reinstallation & more reinstallation & some more Reinstallation i finally have a solution.Updated my BIOS & DL the latest ULi M5287 driver. Here's the weird part :

Go to BIOS changed PEG/IGD to PCI/IGD before installing Win7. Install win7,log in & install latest nvidia driver, update windows & reboot..go back to BIOS & change PCI/IGD back to PEG/IGD & voila! no more BSOD before login...finally can log in to Win7..

Works for me...& so far no more BSOD after running win 7 for 4 days..& triple booting with XP & Ubuntu 9.10...!

THanx guys! CHeeRS!

**EDIT : and my Soundmax AD1986A 5.1 surround works in WIN7 as well!! CHEEEERRS!
