windows media player

I have a disc recorded in Adobe Macromedia Flash Player 8. It won't play and the only thing I can figure is that because I have Windows media player and when installing Windows Media Player it says it will now be the DEFAULT player. I used to get a small window which you choose which program you wanted to use to open with, or browse. Does anyone know how to make Windows Media Player NOT the default player? I have a HP Pravilion dv 4000 and my wife has a HP Pravilion dv 5000. The disc plays in my wife's computer and won't play in mine. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance. flyboy.2
