Sorry if this is posted in the wrong topic :S I have no idea where else to post it.

I keep getting an error when I sign into Windows Live Messenger. I was hoping someone had solutions to this, in laymans terms, since i'm incredibly bad with computers.

This is what it says exactly:

The exception Privileged instruction.

(0xc0000096) occured in the application at location 0x71ab4290.

I've tried asking on Yahoo answers and none of the solutions have worked. I've tried resetting, re-installing, fixing the registry (although i don't know if i'm doing it right...).

Can someone please help!

Oh also, before this happenned my friend downloaded something into my computer. Would deleting it solve this :S?
