elvisn Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I had a problem in running executable files where by an error message will pop up telling me I do not have permissions, whereas I'm administrator, locked in as administrator. After some struggle, i just had to format the machine and reinstall. Now in installing Vista Codec pack, i get this error:Error 1904. Module C:\Windows\system32\rmoc3260.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Please, I need some help. I just did a fresh install.
cluberti Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 That's the "ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION" win32 error. Assuming you had lots of errors on the previous install, and you're getting odd errors here, you probably have one of the following issues: you have a virus or malware causing it (probably not likely if it's a brand new install not attached to the internet yet), you have bad install media causing the problems during install that manifest when you go to use the OS, or you have bad hardware (likely RAM). If all you are doing is strictly installing windows (no other software or drivers) and then you get errors installing applications, it is bound to be one of these issues.
