Adding new user to windows vista home premium

Featured Replies

Hello All,

On one of my computers, I've added a new user (my wife), so she could use that computer and have her own settings and programs separate from mine. Since I'm the administrator of that computer, I added her as a 'standard' account, I guess I thought when she logged in under her user name, the desktop would be virtually like a new computer, much to my surprise..the desktop shows what seems to be exactly the same programs that are available when I'm logged in under my account. Isn't there anyway to achieve this in windows vista ?

Thanks,

David

Unless the program is installed per-user (most .net applications are per-user, but most "Regular" apps are per-machine), no. Applications installed per-machine will show up for all users of the machine.

You'll probably need to provide more information if you want specific comments.

Cluberti,

So I take it by you adding the link about how to post in the forums, I posted my topic in an erroneous manner ? Thanks for a reply anyway.

David
