Windows 7 Updates

I can't find the Windows 7 update service on my PC. It was there in Administrative tools under services the other day. I am receiveng an error about not having Windows Update turned on and politely asking if I would like to do so now. When I click it on I just get a new error saying I need a restart but of course that does't work because the service itself has eloped. How can I replace it? I don't have an approiate Restore Point.

Ok, I have done that and attached the results to better illustrate the problem.

The first screenshot shows all services available on my PC and as you can see Windows Update is not amoung them.

The second scnsht shows the process I go through; This is the order.

1) Action Center allerts me of a promlem and when I check I am shown this box. Lower Right

2) I request the settings change and receive the no can do. Do it manually?

4) I say ok and then get this. I say Ok and restart.

After restart I run Windows update and get what you see on the 3rd scnsht. Ad infinitum.

I also receive the same Action Center Error. I have tried running an elevated cmd prompt it says although it has enabled service it

cannot locate it. Anyone?

Well, I tried to send attachments but I quess I don't know how.
