jcarbo Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I've installed more than 500 XP computers with the same Ghost master, including Office 2003.I know that Word2003 installs silently what it is necessary when a new feature is needed in a document. But I have some computers which starts continuously Msiexec processes when Word is starting, causing sometimes a long delay before users are able to work.It has apparently none to do with user's rights, because I've got the same behavior with an administrator account.I'd like to know which part is missing and why the installation process fails, but I don't have seen any log relative to the problem.Could you give me a hint on how to debug this annoying problem.Thank you in advance and sorry for my poor english
jcarbo Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 So, we seem to be the only ones to have this problem I resigned to try a poor workaround : I changed the HKCR\word.document.8 registry key, by adding /a to the Open CommandI'm not proud of it, but for the moment, that keeps phone calls away If anybody had a clue...
