Outlook 2000 won't open

I am new to this forum and have looked for a solution but didn't find any. I try to open Outlook 2000. It gets past the splash screen then freezes. No error massage, it just hangs. I can see my messages but it never goes past that point. Doesn't receive any new messages. I beleive I have a corrupt message in my in box. Is there a way to delete that message without opening Outlook? I have deleted the message from my server.
