Illegal system dll relocation error shell32.dll and user32.dll

Recommended Posts

Migrate.exe error in time-13 of setup

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not

run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL

C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll occupied an address range reserved for

Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a

new DLL.

Please help me.....

I dont know how to fix it...

Im slipstreaming windows xp sp3 build 5512..

After the setup, explorer will crash when you open the control panel from the start menu..

I had the same problem after slip streaming SP3 into a standard xp source and then using my SP2 Shell32.dll that I hacked / customized, the SP3 user32.dll did not want to work with the SP2 shell32.dll so I also replaced the SP3 user32.dll with a SP2 version - this solved the illegal relocation error. Its too much work to customize the SP3 versions all over again, it seems to be working fine with my Nlited SP3 XP. I also used a few other SP2 files that I customised and they all are working fine. When I feel like a lot of work again someday I will customise the SP3 versions.

Hope this helps,

Jennifer
