How to remember a program's state and position

in my quick launch i have some shortcuts

cmd.exe,calc.exe ect etc

when i launch my shortcut....(for example cmd) how do i get the command prompt to be at the very left, bottom of my screen?

it seems to be coming up at the top...then i drag it down to where i want it..ect ect...kinda annoying

any clues?
