PWilensky Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 When to switch from Office 2003 to Office 2007I have been using MS Office 2003 for years and very comfortable with it. Now, many of my friends started using MS Office 2007. I downloaded the Office 2003/Office 2007 conversion ext. from the Microsoft site, so I can still exchange files with my friends. Is it time for me to switch to Office 2007? What do I lose if I convert existing Excel files and Word documents into Office 2007?Peter Wilensky, Orange County, CA.
MagicAndre1981 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Download the Trial Version and install it into a VM (Virtual Maschine) and test it. Office 2007 has a completely new UI with the ribbons. So you have to learn a bit where the functions are, but a after a short time, you'll love the ribbons. Office 2010 will also have the ribbons, so it is good to start with Office 2007 and to learn how the things are working. And you can talk to your friends, that they send you the files in the old Office 97-2003 format. Office 2007 is able to store the files in this old format.
