Warrentheo Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 My boot time is all over the place on 7.7100, sometimes I will boot straight to desktop in about 10 seconds flat, and other times it has a massive identity crisis and takes literally 3-4 Minutes to boot. When this happens, I can roll the dice again by rebooting the computer and it usually fixes the problem, but then I am rebooting the computer durring the boot process, and that can't be a good thing to be doing all the time. Full Wipe and reinstall has not fixed it.Does anyone else have this issue? Or is it just me... Trying to figure if I need to look into this or if other people have the same problem.A few odd things about my computer that may be a factor:Bios doesn't strictly support my processor, and the UCODE doesn't load for my processor.I use the Mcafee Total protection beta with just AV and firewall and anti-apam installed.I use a SSD as my OS drive.
spacesurfer Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 i have this happen on a computer which has a pata cd-rom burner that seems to be the problem. in system logs, it always logs an error initiating this drive. sometimes the system would never load. other times it loaded fine without any delays. consider a hardware issue...
